Cheap HP Pavilion DV4-2161NR 14.1-Inch Laptop (Digital Plaid)

Cheap HP Pavilion DV4-2161NR 14.1-Inch Laptop (Digital Plaid)

great value for money

I was looking for a loatop as I'm going back to university for my masters. I live outside the US and laptops are pretty expensive here. One of my friends who was working in the US opted to help me by hand carrying this.

I think this is a great deal and great value for money. The cheapest brand with the same configuration would have costed me more than 1000 USD if I were to buy it here. But this was HP and it came with Original windows installed. I got it for 619/= from Amazon and shipping was free!!

Everybody in our family likes it because they can use it with skype to keep in touch with all their frieds. All my frineds at the university also agrees that this is a great value for money.

One drawback is the battery life. But I normally use it plugged in. When I'm using the battery I change the power mode to "power saver" so I can get more time. This is not a big problem.

All in all a great product.

i hate the battery

physically, and function- wise, the battery is the worst part about this laptop.
it is a massive, rectangular hunk that juts out in a ridiculous fashion in the back of this laptop,
creating a (not so) slight incline on the laptop.

the incline itself i can forgive.
but the battery itself weighs so much- that this modest little laptop isn't actually as light as it looks.
i would say this laptop ways about 7-8 pounds- half of that comes from the battery alone.
as a student who needs to carry this laptop+ other academic masses from day to day, this is definitely a negative.

however, i could forgive it's weight too, i guess, if the battery actually provided some decent life.
but no. like so many others have pointed out, the battery life is low, lasting about 3 hours at most.

besides for the battery, i guess it is a decent, average laptop- slightly bulky looking, but
good for it's price.

and the touch screen does go a little haywire, esp. when the windows is just starting, but it is nowhere
as annoying/exascerbating as the stupid batery.
